Bulacan to pay tribute to Ka Blas on his 97th birth anniversary, opens job fair in Hagonoy

CITY OF MALOLOS – As a significant reminder especially to the next generation of Bulakenyos, the Provincial Government of Bulacan through the Provincial History, Arts, Culture and Tourism Office will pay tribute to the late Gat Blas ‘Ka Blas’ F. Ople on his 97th Birth Anniversary via a short program to be held in front of Gat Blas F. Ople Building: Sentro ng Kabataan, Kaalaman, at Hanapbuhay, Antonio S. Bautista Bulacan Provincial Capitol Compound here on February 3, 2024, Saturday at 8:00 am.

 

With the theme “Gat Blas F. Ople: Dunong ng Bulakenyo, Ambag sa Mayamang Ugnayan ng Pilipinas sa Mundo”, a simple program will be led by Governor Daniel R. Fernando and Vice Gov. Alexis C. Castro to commemorate the life and works of Ka Blas.

 

Expected to attend the commemoration are the guest of honor, Department of Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique A. Manalo to be represented by DFA Undersecretary Eduardo Jose A. De Vega, the Ople Family headed by Ka Blas’s daughter, Dalisay Ople-San Jose, members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, PGB department heads and employees, OFW Family Circle, Peso Managers, BTEC, historical groups and DepEd superintendents and supervisors.

 

Simultaneously, a job fair will be held in Ka Blas’s hometown spearheaded by the Provincial Public Employment Service Office (PPESO), PESO Hagonoy and Municipal Government of Hagonoy at the Hagonoy Municipal Grounds at 8:00 am as part of the memorial of his birth anniversary.
