Bulacan emerges overall champion in CLRAA 2023

CITY OF MALOLOS It was indeed an impressive return in the field of sports for Bulakenyo athletes post pandemic as they toppled all the competitors from other provinces and emerged as the overall champion in the Central Luzon Regional Athletic Association (CLRAA) Meet that was held in various playing venues in Bulacan last April 23-28, 2023.   
 
Bulakenyo victors in the elementary and secondary levels took home a total of 245 medals 104 gold, 68 silver, and 55 bronze medals in various sports categories including Arnis, Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Baseball, Basketball, Basketball 3×3, Billiards, Chess, Dance sports, Football, Futsal, Men’s Artistic Gymnastics, Women’s Artistic Gymnastics, Rhythmic Gymnastics, Aero Gymnastics, Sipa-Takraw Junior, Sepak Takraw Senior, Softball, Swimming, Table tennis, Taekwondo, Lawn tennis, Volleyball, Wushu, and Paragames. 
 
Gold and silver medalists for standard individual events are qualified to represent Bulacan for the Palarong Pambansa come July 29 to August 5 in Marikina City which includes Chess players Elexis Jazz Mendez who won gold for standard team event and silver medal for standard individual event, and Vince Duane Pascual who won silver medals for both the standard team event and individual events. 
 
Meanwhile, basketball secondary for girls and boys and softball secondary girls from Jesus Is Lord Colleges Foundation, Inc. Bocaue who won gold will undergo a pre-qualifying game on July 17-21 in Vigan, Ilocos Sur and if they won, they will also represent Bulacan in Palarong Pambansa.
 
Brimming with pride, Gov. Daniel R. Fernando congratulated the young Bulakenyo athletes not only for their outstanding performances but also for showcasing discipline, commitment and teamwork while participating in the competition.
 
Isang malaking karangalan para sa ating probinsya ang pagkakaroon ng masisikap at mahuhusay na mga batang manlalaro na nagpamalas hindi lamang ng kanilang kahusayan sa ibat ibang larong pampalakasan, ngunit lalot higit ng kanilang mabuting pag-uugali at magalang na pakikisalamuha sa kanilang kapwa atleta. Naway maging inspirasyon sila sa mga susunod na henerasyon ng batang atleta na nagnanais ring maging modelo ng isang talentado at mabuting kabataan, the governor said.
 
CLRAA is held in accordance with issued Memorandum No. 5, s. 2023 of the Department of Education or the Conduct of the 2023 Palarong Pambansa which provides that Division Meets and Regional Meet shall be conducted on February 6-10 and April 24-28 as recommended by the Palarong Pambansa Secretariat.
