CITY OF MALOLOS- A total of 252 bags of blood were collected via the Mobile Blood Donation program initiated by the Provincial Government of Bulacan through the Provincial Health Office-Public Health (PHO-PH) in cooperation with the Central Luzon Center for Health Development- Regional Voluntary Blood Services Program CLCHD-RVBSP and Damayang Filipino Movement, Inc. (DMFI) held at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium in this city last Saturday, July 30, 2022.
Bulakenyos in dire need of blood transfusion from government and private hospitals in the province will be the beneficiaries of the collected blood.
Governor Daniel Fernando personally visited the site activity along with Vice Governor Alex Castro where they thanked the blood donors for their heroic act that could save a lot of lives.
“Maraming salamat po sa inyong ginawang pagmamalasakit sa ating kapwa Bulakenyo. Diyos na po ang bahalang gumanti sa inyong kabutihan,” the governor said.
Among the groups that donated blood include Philippine National Police-Bulacan, Kabalikat, Ulirang Ina, Barangay Health Workers (BHW) Federation of Bulacan, Triskelion De Bulacan Provincial, 304th Army Reservist, Civil Security Unit, Provincial Civil Security and Jail Management Office, PGB employees, Bureau of Fire Protection-Bulacan, and Pulo ng Lilan Masonic Lodge No. 439.
Bloodletting is one of the projects of DFMI, a non-government organization founded by Gov. Fernando in 2008, that aims to help indigent Bulakenyos to somehow get out of poverty and be given medical attention.
The event was also part of the National Blood Donor’s Month celebration in the Province of Bulacan.
