FORT MAGSAYSAY, Nueva Ecija – The Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management Corporation (PSALM) in collaboration with the 84th Infantry (Victorious) Battalion awarded 10 desktop computers to the Bugkalot Indigenous People Communities during an out-reach program on August 17, 2022 at Barangay Pelaway, Alfonso Castañeda, Nueva Vizcaya.
The beneficiaries are Barangay Pelaway, Kawayan, and Lipuga of Alfonso Castañeda and Barangay Abacca and Talvec of Dupax Del Sur both of Nueva Vizcaya. Each Barangay received 2 Desktop Computers to be utilized in each Barangay Hall for daily admin activities of the IP Communities.
The awarding of the computer desktop was part of the corporate social responsibility of PSALM as owner of Casecnan Hydro Electric Power Plant and part of their mandate to share their resources to its host community.
In his statement, Lieutenant Colonel Enrico Gil C Ileto, Commanding Officer of 84IB express his gratitude for the initiative of PSALM and reiterates the unit’s full support for the protection and recognition of indigenous peoples and cultural community rights.
On the other hand, Major General Andrew D Costelo, Commander of 7th Infantry (Kaugnay) Division emphasized the importance of developing IP communities and extend his utmost appreciation to the PSALM for the very fecund project to the Bugkalot community.
