CITY OF MALOLOS – As to their excellent service in providing assistance to people living with Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) in the province, the Bulacan Medical Center-Luntiang Silong HIV Facility of the Provincial Government of Bulacan bagged another award during the 2023 QUILTS Awards held at the Ynares Center, L. Sumulong Memorial Circle, Antipolo City, Rizal last Monday.
Ronchie D. Santos, HIV Unit Nurse Supervisor of Luntiang Silong Facility, received the ‘Excellence Award for HIV Treatment Initiation with above 700 clients’ wherein the said facility has been awarded the same recognition since 2017.
He said that improvements have been implemented including their service from ‘one day link to care’ to ‘one hour link to care’ wherein the blood samples will be immediately transported to the RHIVDA Laboratory along with the baseline test where the confirmatory results can be obtained within one hour.
Meanwhile, Governor Daniel R. Fernando could not be any prouder for the additional recognition for the PGB and commended the people behind the facility who are devotedly looking after Bulakenyos living with HIV.
“Ang ating pamahalaan po ay patuloy na sumusuporta sa pagpapabuti ng ating mga kalalawigan. Isa po itong Luntiang Silong sa mga pasilidad na ating pinahahalagahan sapagkat napakaraming mga Bulakenyo na po ang naging benepisyaryo ng mga serbisyo nito. Malaking tulong rin ang Luntiang Silong na nagiging daan upang maging mas maalam ang mga Bulakenyo hinggil sa mga epekto ng HIV sa ating mga buhay,” the governor said.
Also, the Meycauayan Social Hygiene Clinic, Region III received the ‘Excellence Award for HIV Treatment Retention Treatment Facility under 300 clients’.
The QUILTS Awards is a tribute to facilities/organizations that have made significant contributions to the country’s efforts in providing treatment to People Living with HIV, in conjunction with the International HIV Candlelight Memorial.
