Angeles City shines in Sinukwan Festival

ANGELES CITY — Public schools here dominated the awarding ceremony of the 2023 Sinukwan Festival Street Dance Competition held at Robinsons Starmills, City of San Fernando, Pampang. 
 
 Mayor Carmelo ‘Pogi’ Lazatin Jr. congratulated the four public schools in the city who showed their moves towards achieving some amazing feats in the pinnacle of Kapampangan Street Dance Competition, the Sinukwan Festival. 
 
 “Binabati ko po ang mga mag-aaral mula sa Gueco Balibago Elementary School, Angeles City National Trade School, Cutud Elementary School, at EPZA Resettlement Elementary School, sa pinakita nilang kagalingan sa Sinukwan Festival,” Lazatin said.  
 
Students from Gueco Balibago Elementary School bested other schools in the Level 1 Best in Street Dance Competition, with Cutud Elementary School placed as second. 
 
 For the Level 2 Best in Street Dance Competition, dancers from Angeles City National Trade School dazzled their way to first place. 
 
 Meanwhile for the Level 1 Free Interpretative Dance Competition, Cutud Elementary School and EPZA Resettlement Elementary School captured the second and third places, respectively. 
 
 Angeles City public schools completed the podium for the Level 1 Best in Headdress with Gueco Balibago Elementary School, Cutud Elementary School, and EPZA Resettlement Elementary School finishing 1-2-3 in places. 
 
 Further, Angeles City National Trade School garnered the first place in the Level 2 Best in Costume, and second place in the Level 2 Best in Headdress. 
 
 Lastly, Cutud Elementary School, and EPZA Resettlement Elementary School secured the second and third places in the Level 1 Best in Costume. 
 
Gueco Balibago Elementary School Performing Arts Coordinator Raymond Gonzales, and Cutud Elementary School Principal Carryl Lizzette Reyes 
expressed their gratitude to Mayor Lazatin for giving them an all-out support for the Sinukwan Festival. 
 
 To recall, Mayor Lazatin handed over P30,000 each to Gueco Balibago Elementary School, and Cutud Elementary School to help in their preparation for the said competition. 
 
 “Nagpapasalamat po ako sa mga taong walang sawa at laging nandyan po para sa aking mga GBES Dancers. Unang una po ang ating mahal at ever supportive Mayor Pogi, Vice Mayor Vicky Vega, Boss IC Calaguas, Ma’am Reina Manuel. Dakal pung salamat keng lugud at malasakit na bibye yu po para kareng anak Angeleños,” Gonzales said. 
 
 “In behalf of Cutud Elementary School nais po naming pasalamatan lahat ng tumulong at naging bahagi ng tagumpay na ito, lalo na sa ating butihing Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. sa binigay niyang 30,000 financial assistance para sa Sinukuan Festival 2023,” Reyes stated. 
 
 In can also be remembered, that the city government launched the Street Dance Competition in this year’s Kambal Festival to help prepare the public schools in the Sinukwan Festival. 
 
 “Ang Kambal Festival Street Dance Competition po ay naging susi upang ang ating mga GBES dancers/mag-aaral ay mahubog, maging confident at malinang pa ang kanilang skills sa pagsasayaw,” Gonzales added. 
 
 “Malaking tulong ang nagawa ng Angeles City Kambal Festival 2023 sa preparasyon ng mga bata sa pagsali sa Sinukuan Festival. Lalo na ang premyong napalunan nila mula sa Kambal Festival upang mapunan ang gastusin at makapagbahagi sa proyekto ng paaralan. Naging daan din ang Kambal Festival upang maibalik ang sigla ng ating magaaral na maipakita ang kanilang talento sa pagsayaw matapos ang mahigit dalawang taong na pandemya,” Reyes furthered.
