This vaccine-to-rice program will be conducted from Sept. 26 to 29, 2022 at the Angeles City Hall Legislative Building.

Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. said this is a form of reward to encourage the elderly to get vaccinated.

“Ang bakuna po ang tanging proteksyon natin laban sa virus, kaya po hinihikayat ko po ang ating mga Lolo at Lola na magpabakuna,” Lazatin said.

Meanwhile, senior citizens who wish to get their second dose of vaccines and booster shots are also welcome to visit the Legislative Building on the mentioned dates, provided they bring their vaccination cards.

“Nais po natin na bakunado ang lahat ng ating mga Lolo at Lola para po sila ay protektado, bilang pag-iingat na rin po kahit nasa new normal na tayo,” Lazatin explained.

To date, 405,190 Angeleño residents already received their first dose of vaccines; 382,420 for the second dose; 91,849 for the first booster shot; while 9,849 for the second booster shot.

To recall, Angeles City is one of the 23 Highly Urbanized Cities in the country to achieve herd immunity.

Angeles City is also the only Local Government Unit with a blended scheme vaccination drive  — the Ronda Bakuna and the Sundo Bakuna sa Barangay programs — led by IC Calaguas, the chief implementer of the city government’s vaccination program.

The Ronda Bakuna sa Barangay is the delivery of vaccination service right at the doorsteps of  Angeleño families using three mobile bus clinics, while the Sundo Bakuna sa Barangay program picked up Angeleños from the barangays and took them to the city’s two mega vaccination sites with free transportation services provided — six Philippine Rabbit buses and 10 jeepneys.
