AC gov’t awards lots to 87 families in Cutud

Angeles City Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr., personally turned over the certificates of lot to 87 family-beneficiaries.
ANGELES CITY – Some 87 informal settler-families in Barangay Cutud received certificates of lot from the city government here on April 4, 2022.
This, after the city government led by Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. signed a Memorandum of Agreement for the purchase of 10,660 sqm of land that the families are occupying. The land was owned by the heirs of Ignacio and Amelia Guiao.

Mayor Lazatin, who personally turned over the certificates of lot to the family-beneficiaries, said he together with the Sangguniang Panlungsod, headed by Vice Mayor Vicenta “Vicky” Vega-Cabigting, are inclusively working to continue providing programs that will help the residents of Angeles City, especially those who have lost their homes.

In fact, according to Local Urban Poor Affairs and Housing Office Deputy Roque Nava, the family-beneficiaries already paid partially to the land owner, but were returned and instead paid by the city government for ₱5,694,800.

Nava said each family received certificates of lot depending on the measurement of the house they are occupying.

“Alam naman po natin na ang liderato po ni Mayor Lazatin ay lumilingap sa kapakanan ng mga kababayan nating nangangailangan ng sariling tahanan,” Nava added.

This is not the first time that the Lazatin administration pushed for the initiative to provide housing and distributed land titles to informal settlers and displaced families.

In February 2022, 3,000 families in Amsic were relocated on-site; while 485 displaced families in Barangay Margot received ₱7,000 in cash aid and were relocated in Sapangbato.

Also present during the awarding of certificates are Barangay Cutud Captain Joen June Ferraris, Vice Mayor Vega-Cabigting, City Councilors Atty. Arvin Suller, Marino Bañola, and Dan Lacson.
