The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Central Luzon (BFAR 3), in coordination with the local government, spearheaded a clean-up of the Calumpit River in the province of Bulacan earlier today, December 21.
Regional Director Wilfredo Cruz, during the short program held in the Calumpit Fish Landing and Processing Center, extended his gratitude to all 60 participants of mostly fisherfolk leaders, BFAR 3 law enforcers, coastal resources and provincial technical staff, and residents residing along the river banks who took part in the clean-up activity.
The Calumpit River is a tributary of the larger Pampanga River and is a valued resource for fishing and irrigation.
