The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) led the groundbreaking ceremony of the development projects under the 2021 Local Government Support Fund-Support in Barangay Development Program (BDP) of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict in Sitio Suha, Barangay San Mateo, Norzagaray, Bulacan on Thursday.
In a simple program, DILG Reg. 3 Director Karl Caesar R. Rimando said that the project was funded P20 million which includes the Concreting of Farm-to-Market Road, Construction of Two Units of Health Center and Electrification Project.
The residents will also be given livestock for breeding, fertilizers and seedlings.
Meanwhile, Governor Daniel Fernando expressed his gratitude to DILG for choosing Barangay San Mateo as one of the beneficiaries of the program and reminded Bulakenyos to take care and maintain the said projects in their barangay.
“Lubos ang aking pasasalamat dahil isa ang Brgy. San Mateo sa napiling lugar dito sa Lalawigan ng Bulacan upang isagawa ang Barangay Development Program. Malaking tulong ito sa ating kapwa Bulakenyo sa Norzagaray, umpisa pa lamang ito ng pag-unlad. Karugtong nito, hinihiling ko lamang na ating alagaan at ingatan ang mga proyektong ipinagkaloob sa atin,” the governor said.
The Barangay Development Program (BDP) was established with the end goal of bringing development to former conflict ridden communities in the country.
