Lazatin distributes 8,854 school items to 4 public schools

ANGELES CITY – True to his promise of uplifting the quality of education among youth, Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. on Sept. 5, 2022 led the delivery of 8,854 bags with school supplies, T-shirts and shoes to students in four public schools here.

The distribution in the remaining schools will follow suit.

Among the student-beneficiaries of the free school supplies, T-shirts, and shoes are from the 76 day care centers and 53 public schools in the city.

“Para po ito sa lahat ng mag-aaral natin. Lahat po ay mabibigyan, wala po tayong pinipili. Iikot po tayo sa lahat ng public schools at day care centers para ipamigay ito,” Lazatin said.

Vice Mayor Vicenta “Vicky” Vega-Cabigting, who assisted Mayor Lazatin during the distribution, congratulated the latter’s administration for a laudable project for young Angeleños.

Vega-Cabigting said she believes that this is the first time that any Local Chief Executive in Angeles has  given free uniforms, school supplies, bags and shoes to public school students in our city.

“Walang mapapa ‘sana all’ kasi lahat mabibigyan,” she affirmed.

Vega-Cabigting also furthered this is why the Sangguniang Panglunsod is very supportive of Mayor Lazatin’s programs because he always has the city and its people in mind.

Also joining the two officials during the distribution are City Councilors Dan Lacson and JC Aguas; members of the Gender and Development Office led by Mina Cabiles, City Nutrition Office headed by Jermaine Jam Aguila, Angeles City Emergency Command Center led by Michael Lising, General Services Office headed by Evangeline Malonzo, and City Engineer Donato Dizon and staff.

The schools visited today were Northville 15 Integrated School with 4,629 beneficiaries; EPZA Resettlement Elementary School (2,326); Bonifacio V. Romero High School (1,330); and Bonifacio V. Romero Senior High School (569).

Prior the kick-off distribution today in four public schools, Chief Adviser IC Calaguas and Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel already inspected the said uniforms, shoes, and school supplies.

This initiative of Mayor Lazatin also received positive feedback from Angelenos, especially parents. The quick peek post of the said free items to be distributed garnered 3,400 reactions, 423 comments, and 819 shares at the time of writing.

Dr. Irelyn Tamayo of DepEd Schools Division of Angeles City further expressed sincere gratitude to the Lazatin administration for always thinking of the welfare of the learners and the public schools.
