President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, through a recorded message, congratulated the recognized LGUs for their efforts to instill a healthier and safer Philippines.

This distinction attests to local leaders’ commitment to safeguarding the health and overall wellbeing of our citizens. May you inspire other LGUs to work even harder in promoting the welfare of the general public including tourists visiting our country,” the president said.

Testing Czar and Presidential Adviser for COVID-19 Response Secretary Vivencio Dizon shared that the Philippines have administered more than 140 million doses of vaccines throughout the country. Also, he announced that 65 million Filipinos are fully vaccinated and 12 million received booster shots.

“We have seen that the vaccination program was really the game changer. If we did not come together as one, we would not be here today.

Meanwhile, Governor Daniel R. Fernando thanked the Department of the Interior and Local Government and the National Task Force on COVID-19 for the distinction and said that the province will continue to encourage Bulakenyos to get vaccinated.
