CITY OF MALOLOS — Historians, educators, and young scholars gathered at Dr. Yanga’s College, Inc. in Bocaue, Bulacan on September 3–4 for the Pambansang Kumperensiya sa Bulacan 2026, a two-day academic gathering that reframed how we view the Filipino footprint on the global stage.
Centered on the theme “Ang Bayan at Daigdig: Mga Pilipino sa Kasaysayan, Diplomasya, at Diaspora,” the conference was spearheaded by the Provincial History, Arts, Culture and Tourism Office (PHACTO) in partnership with the Samahang Pangkasaysayan ng Bulacan (SAMPAKA).
The event created a crucial space for groundbreaking research on overseas Filipino experiences, diplomatic history, and local heritage, bridging the gap between local communities and the global diaspora.
Representing Governor Daniel R. Fernando, Tricia Salviejo, Project Development Officer I from the Governor’s Office, delivered his message, emphasizing how deep historical roots empower the nation moving forward.
“Ang kasaysayan ang ating compass, tinutulungan tayo nito maunawaan kung bakit ganito ang ating bayan ngayon at kung anong klaseng Pilipinas ang maaari nating buuin bukas. Kilalanin ang ating pinagmulan, unawain ang lugar sa ating mundo, at gamitin ang ating pagka-Pilipino upang makalikha ng mas makabuluhang kinabukasan” she said.
By hosting this successful national conference, Bulacan solidifies its position as a major hub for cultural discourse and historical research, inspiring a new generation of thinkers, students, and advocates to active research, preservation, and shaping the continuing story of the Filipino nation.
