3,012 TODA members get cash aid in Pandi

PANDI, Bulacan —  A total of 3,012 members of Tricycle Operators and Drivers’ Associations (TODA) in this town received financial aid  from the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) during two-day Cash Relief Assistance Payout held at the Mamerto C. Bernardo Memorial Central School on May 12-13, 2026.

According to Pandi Municipal Social Welfare and Development officer Erwin Vicente,  each beneficiary was granted P5,000 in cash aid thru Cash Relief Assistance program to help offset the impact of rising fuel prices, allowing tricycle drivers to sustain their daily operations despite ongoing economic pressures. 

“The assistance aims to cushion the effects of the current energy challenges linked to tensions in the Middle East, which have contributed to increased fuel costs,” he added.

Beneficiaries expressed their gratitude for the timely intervention, Mario Domingo, president, (Patubig, Bunsura Malibong Bata  TODA), said the aid is vital for both his livelihood and his family’s daily needs.

“Thank you very much to Pres. Bong Bong Marcos, Mayor Rico Roque, and the DSWD. This is a huge help for us because of the more-than-double increase in gasoline prices. I will use this for gasoline, food, and household expenses,” Domingo added.

Pandi Mayor Roque who also present during the distribution expressed gratitude to the local teams and volunteers who worked tirelessly to make the distribution successful.

“This  program aim to help with the daily expenses of our TODA Drivers and reduce the impact of the continuous increase in fuel prices on their livelihoods. With the help of the Pandi Municipal Government, we continue to bring forward programs that truly care and directly benefit every Pandieños,” he added.
