IBA, Zambales — The provincial government of Zambales is eyeing to bid for the 2027 Palarong Pambansa as part of its efforts to strengthen sports development and improve facilities for young athletes.

In his State of the Province Address (SOPA), Governor Hermogenes Ebdane Jr. said the province is preparing its bid and expressed confidence in Zambales’ readiness to host the event.

“As we prepare our bid for the 2027 Palarong Pambansa, we are confident that Zambales is ready – we will have the facilities, the discipline, and the heart to host this prestigious event,” he pressed.

Ebdane said the provincial government has intensified its sports development program to help build discipline, leadership, and national pride among young athletes.

He cited the construction of the Zambales Sports Complex Track and Football Stadium in Iba town as part of the province’s infrastructure development program supporting sports activities and competitions.

It is being built to international standards with a 17,000-seat stadium.

The governor also noted that Zambaleño athletes continue to bring pride to the province after competing in national and international competitions.
