NEW CLARK CITY, Tarlac — The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) has formed a partnership with Filipino tech firm CostPlus, Inc. to expedite the transition to clean, renewable, and smart energy solutions in New Clark City and other estates under its management.
Under a newly signed Memorandum of Understanding, BCDA and CostPlus will conduct feasibility studies for key sustainable energy projects.
These include a five-megawatt microgrid system powered by solar energy, battery storage, and hybrid technologies, as well as a waste-to-energy (WTE) facility capable of processing 20 metric tons of waste per day.
The WTE facility is designed to generate compressed natural gas for public transport, with high-grade fertilizers as a by-product.
“With partners like CostPlus, we can unlock the full clean energy potential of New Clark City and prove that green innovation and economic growth go hand in hand,” BCDA President and CEO Joshua Bingcang stated.
To mark the partnership, CostPlus, Inc. donated an electric bus to BCDA, symbolizing a shared commitment to advancing sustainability and green mobility across the country.
The signing ceremony was attended by Indian Ambassador to the Philippines Shri Harsh Kumar Jain, CostPlus, Inc. President Anand Mahtani, and BCDA Executive Vice President and COO Gisela Kalalo.
