Camp Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga- Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) announced on Wednesday that five individuals and two active members of the communist terrorist groups (CTGs) voluntarily surrendered to authorities from July 4 to 10, 2024.
A certain “Ka Yan,” member of Regional Sentro De Gravidad voluntarily surrendered himself on July 5 to joint elements of Mabalacat City Police Station and other concerned units while “Ka During,” former member of “Iskwad Primera Bagong Hukbong Bayan (BHB)” voluntarily surrendered to elements of Aurora 1ST Police Mobile Force Company (PMFC) together with concerned units of Aurora and relinquished one cal.38 revolver with two pieces of live ammunition and one 40MM high explosive.
In another operation on July 9, “Kumander Bulag,” former member of Alyansa ng mga Magbubukid ng Tarlac (AMT) surrendered to personnel of 1st PMFC Tarlac PPO and other concerned units and turned in one homemade cal. 22 Pistol with magazine.
Also on the same day, “Ka Jeric,” a member of NPA in the Barrio under KLG TarZam presented himself to Zambales 2nd PMFC together with concerned units and turned-in one (1) unit of improvised intratec 9mm, one Grenade, Rifle, and subversive documents.
On July 10, “Ka Loraine,” a former member of KLG-TAR-ZAM Squad voluntarily surrendered to Tarlac 2nd PMFC personnel together with other concerned units and handed over one improvised Caliber 38 without serial number.
Additionally, “Ka Minda”, a former member of AMGL-KMP surrendered to joint elements of Pampanga 2nd PMFC together with concerned agencies and handed over one (1) piece of 40mm explosive.
Lastly, “ Ka Atan,” former member of “Samahan ng mga Nagkakaisang Mamamayan sa Tabing Dagat” under “Advocates of Human Rights in Aurora Province” (AHRAP)surrendered to joint personnel of 2nd APMFC together with other concerned units and turned-in one improvised firearm “Deposporo.”
PRO3 Director PBGen Jose Hidalgo Jr. said that these voluntary surrenders mark a significant step toward peace and security in the region, demonstrating the commitment of law enforcement to encourage disengagement from underground movements and promote peace and stability in affected communities.
