Camp Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga – Four active and ten former members of communist terrorist groups (CTGs) in Central Luzon surrendered to authorities between June 6 to 13, 2024 and pledged allegiance to the government.
Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) director BGen Jose Hidalgo Jr. Identified the surenderees as “Ka Alvin,” former CTG member who turned-in one caliber .38 with ammunition, one hand grenade, MK2 fragmentation, one BHB Uniform, and subversive documents; “Ka Neneng,” former UGMO member of “Samahan ng mga Nagkakaisang Mamamayan sa Tabing Dagat” who handed over one improvised firearm “Deposporo”; “Ka Eugene,” former member of Palermo Ortañez Command (POC); “Ka Uring,” former member of Alyansa ng mga Magbubukid sa Gitnang Luzon – Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (AMGL-KMP), who possessed one rifle grenade; “Ka Jojo,” former NPA in the Barrio under Kilusan Larangan Guerilla (KLG)-West under Lino Blas Command, who handed over one improvised 12 gauge shotgun, one Ctg. 40 mm high explosive, and explosive materials consisting of a time fuse and detonating cord; “Ka Mel”, former member of Alyansa ng mga Magbubukid sa Gitnang Luzon – Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (AMGL-KMP),who possessed one M203 hand grenade; “Ka Inang,” former Milisyang Bayan (MB) and served as courier/messenger of Weakened Kilusang Larangang Gerilya (WKLG) TARZAM, who handed over one rifle grenade;” Ka Noel,” former Member of Alyansa ng Manggagawang Bukid ng Asyenda Luisita (AMBALA), who turned in one Smith & Wesson Caliber .38 revolver without serial number; “Ka Ronda,” former President of League of Filipino Students (LFS) until 1995 at University of the East Manila; “Ka Maeng,” former member of KLG-TARZAM, who handed over one 40mm High Explosive and explosive materials, 104 inches electric wire and 9 volts battery; “Ka Louie,” member of Baseng Masa of Dismantled Larangan Gerilya sa Patag 1 (LGP1) Defunct DAMMAK-KA Damayan Ng Mahihirap sa Kanayunan laban sa Kahirapan, who turned in one caliber .38 revolver with ammunition and two 40mm M203 Grenades; “Ka Reño,” Red fighter of KLG-TARZAM who turned in one Homemade (single shot) cal. 45 pistol, 40mm High Explosive, and 18 inches detonating cord (explosive material); “Ka Tupe,” member of Damayan ng Mamamayan Laban sa Kaapihan at Kahirapan (DAMAKKA), who turned in one Cal. .38 revolver without serial number and three pcs of live cal. .38 ammunition; and “Ka Usting,” member of Aguman Dareng Maglalautang Capampangan (AMC).
Hidalgo called on the remaining members of these groups to surrender and take advantage of the government’s E-CLIP program. He stressed, “The Philippine National Police and the Armed Forces of the Philippines continue to encourage all remaining supporters of the Communist Party of the Philippines/New People’s Army to return to the government’s fold and unite in building a terrorism-free nation.”
