Marian College of Baliuag, nangibabaw sa 1st BUCAA Basketball Tournament

LUNGSOD NG MALOLOS – Nangibabaw ang Marian College of Baliuag, Inc. sa 1st Bulacan University and Collegiate Athletic Association (BUCAA) Men’s Basketball tournament at naiuwi ang kampeonato sa inabangang sagupaan laban sa Jesus Is Lord Colleges Foundation, Inc. (JILCF) kamakailan.

 

Naging kaabang-abang ang Best of Three Series kung saan nagaganap ang Game One noong Mayo 29, 2024 sa n Prayer Garden ng JILCF; Game Two sa Baliwag Star Arena noong Mayo 31, 2024; at nagtapos ang serye sa Game Three noong Hunyo 4, 2024 sa Bustos Gymnasium.

 

Sa kanilang Facebook page, ibinahagi ng Marian College of Baliuag ang isang post patungkol sa dati nilang engkuwentro sa JILCF at sinabing, “For the information of all Marian students and athletes, we would like to let you know that the Marian basketball team competed in the 2009 Basketball BULPRISA tournament and lost to JILCF. That was 15 years ago. Fifteen years later, we meet again! The championship face-off was a head-to-head battle, this time MCB basketball team won’t let Marian College and its audience/supporters down. Due to the hard work of the team, we emerged victorious in the 1st BUCAA tournament! Moreover, we are the 1st highest pointing team and 1st championship title holder of the BUCAA tournament.”

 

Tatanggap ang Marian College of Baliuag ng grand prize na P400,000, habang mag-uuwi ang JILCF ng P200,000 bilang 1st runner up; P150,000 para sa Bulacan State University (BulSU) Main Campus bilang 2nd runner up, at P60,000 para sa SJDM Cornerstone College bilang 3rd runner up.

 

Para sa Individual Awards, pasok sa Mythical 5 sina Aaron John E. Wico, Josh Eduard Ortiz, Ernel Jhon B. Caguntas, Alexis Gemile L. Borga, at Juan Miguel D. Ingco kung saan hinirang na Most Valuable Player si Wico (MVP).

 

Binati naman ni Gob. Daniel R. Fernando ang kauna-unahang kampeon at lahat ng pinarangalan ng BUCAA.
