Some 400 city hall employees, who were considered as modern heroes during the pandemic, received their Health Emergency Allowances from the Department of Health on the Day of Valor, April 9, 2024.
Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the modern day heroes and how he would not be able to face the pandemic without the help of the frontliners.
“Hindi ko po kakayanin mag-isa ang pagharap noong pandemya. Kundi po dahil sa inyong lahat, hindi natin malalabanan ang pagsubok na dala ng pandemyang COVID-19,” Mayor Lazatin said.
“Akma lamang po na naibigay na rin ang HEA para sa ating mga frontliners ngayong Araw ng Kagitingan, dahil sila po ang nasa harapan ng laban natin kontra sa COVID-19 virus noong pandemya,” Lazatin added.
The Araw ng Kagitingan or the Day of Valor was proclaimed through Proclamation No. 368 pursuant to Executive Order No. 203, series of 1987.
