FORT MAGSAYSAY, Nueva Ecija – A total of 52 Female individuals including soldiers received free consultation and diagnostics for Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening in a Medical Mission conducted by the Rotary Club of Makati-San Antonio in partnership with the 84th Infantry (Victorious) Battalion, Local Government Unit of San Jose, Nueva Ecija and other stakeholders on June 29, 2022 at the Pag-Asa Sports Complex, Barangay F.E., San Jose City, Nueva Ecija.
Ms Eiza Mendoza Espina, President of Rotary Club of Makati-San Antonio said in an interview that the initiative is dedicated to fight Breast and Cervical Cancer that causes deaths among the women’s sector of the society if not detected and treated.
“Importante po ito sapagkat marami na po ang namamatay dahil huli na ng nalaman, so with this effort, pwede po siyang ma detect ng maaga and we hope with this initiative we are able to help many people and save more lives”, Ms Espina said.
Meanwhile, Lieutenant Colonel Enrico Gil C Ileto, Commanding Officer of 84IB expressed his utmost gratitude to the Rotary club of Makati-San Antonio and the local government of San Jose, Nueva Ecija for spearheading the activity that aims to help less fortunate Novo Ecijanos to avail the medical services for free.
On the other hand, the commander of the 7th Infantry (Kaugnay) Division MGEN ANDREW D COSTELO PA extends his gratitude to the Rotary Club of Makati-San Antonio, 84IB and LGU of San Jose City for the initiative in supporting the women’s sector of the community. He also emphasized the vital role of the women in the Philippine Army.
“I am very grateful to the Rotary Club of Makati-San Antonio, 84IB and LGU of San Jose City for launching programs like this that helps detect and cure immediately diseases that are usually ignored due to lack of financial capability.” Mgen Costelo said.
