3 animal welfare offenders nabbed in Bulacan

CAMP GEN ALEJO S SANTOS, City of Malolos, Bulacan — Three animal welfare offenders including eight other violators were nabbed by Bulacan cops on May 21, 2022.

Acting Provincial Director of Bulacan PNP PCol Charlie Cabradilla, a joint rescue operation by Bustos and Pandi PS together with Animal Kingdom Foundation Inc. (AKFI) led to the arrest of the suspects for Violation of Sec 6, RA8485 (Animal Welfare Act of 1998 ) in Liciada, Bustos and Bagbaguin, Pandi, Bulacan.

The suspects identified as Jessie Dela Cruz, 38, caretaker, from Liciada, Bustos; Felipe Borja, 62, caretaker and Lando Soriano, 58, caretaker both from Bagbaguin Pandi, were caught in the act in possession of live dogs that were kept inside rice sacks and pens.

The rescue operation stemmed as the suspects were reported to be involved in butchering and selling of dog-meat.

Meanwhile, in a series of drug-bust operation conducted by the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) of San Miguel, Obando and Malolos City PS resulted in the arrest of four (4) drug individuals identified as Wally Dela Cruz of Tigpalas, San Miguel; Aida Villamil of Dakila City of Malolos and Maricel Marcelino of Sto. Rosario Paombong. Recovered evidence were ten (10) sachets of suspected shabu and bust money.

Moreover, manhunt operations by tracker teams of Meycauayan City PS and Bulacan CIDG arrested three  wanted felons identified as Mark Joven Rivera for Qualified Theft; Melody Mendoza and Emmalyn Cruz @Malen Cruz both for Libel (RPC Art 353).

Further, persons in authority of SM Pulilan arrested the perpetrator for the malicious information and threats concerning bombs and explosion, identified as, Justine Agustine @Tintin, 26, Oppo Promoter at SM Pulilan Center, resident of Poblacion, Pulilan. Said suspect was later turned-over to Pulilan MPS for the filing of appropriate complaints.
