CAMP Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga – Two former and one active CTG members voluntarily surrendered to authorities and turned-in their firearms and explosives.
Joint operating troops of 1st PMFC TPPO, PIU TPPO and PIT Tarlac facilitated the voluntary surrender of former CTG member identified as alias “SK”, 46 years old, driver and resident of Brgy. Care, Tarlac City.
“SK” handed over one MK2 Hand Grenade.Further, joint elements of Aurora 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company, PIU Aurora PPO, Dinalungan PS, Casiguran PS, Dilasag PS and 91st IB-PA facilitated the voluntarily surrender of a former Militiang Bayan identified as “Ka Crispin” wherein he turned-in one (1) cal .38 revolver with three live ammunition and one piece of hand grenade.
Meanwhile, personnel of 2nd PMFC ZPPO, PIU ZPPO together with other partner agencies facilitated the surrender of an active CTG member identified as “Harim”, farmer, 49 years old, and resident of Brgy. Aglao, San Marcelino, Zambales who turned-in one Magnum Cal. 22 with Serial No. HC 105786 and one improvised 12-gauge shotgun.
PBGen Mathew Baccay, RD, PRO3 said that hunger, hardship and unfulfilled promises pushed the surrenderers to abandon the communist movement and return to the fold of the law.
