FORT MAGSAYSAY, Nueva Ecija – Two members of the Communist Terrorist Group’s (CTG) Milisyang Bayan voluntarily surrendered to authorities in Mt. Province on January 14, Saturday.

Lt. Col. Marcelo F Valdez Jr., Commanding Officer of 69th Infantry (COUGAR) Battalion, Philippine Army identified the two personalities as certain Julius Malla-ao aka “Jake”, a resident of Sitio Tuboy, Brgy Banawel, Natonin, Mountain Province and a certain Ranger Nayona aka “Roger”, and a resident of Sitio Talaktak, Brgy Poblacion, Paracelis, Mountain Province.

The duo belong to the dismantled Komiteng Larangang Guerrilla Marco and Platoon Reynold, KOMPROB Isabela, respectively.

They surrendered one improvised rifle, single shot (cal. 7.62mm) with one magazine and five rounds of ammunition; and one M1 carbine rifle, with one magazine and 10 rounds of ammunition.

Maj. Gen. Andrew D Costelo, Commander of the 7th Infantry (Kaugnay) Division, Philippine Army welcomed the decision of the former CTG and assured them of assistance under the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program of the government.

“Your voluntary surrender is an opportunity for you to make a fresh start this year, make use of it for you and your family to have peace of mind. Supporting the wrong group like the CTG would only lead to misfortunes,” said Maj. Gen. Costelo.
