15 Bulakenyos shine at Gawad Dangal ng Lipi 2026

CITY OF MALOLOS – Fifteen exceptional Bulakenyos who have brought immense pride and distinction to the province took center stage as they were honored at the Gawad Dangal ng Lipi 2026 at The Pavilion, Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center  on Sunday night, September 13.

Pioneered by the Provincial Government of Bulacan through the Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO), the prestigious awards program celebrates individuals whose remarkable contributions have elevated Bulacan’s reputation on both national and international stages.

The annual tribute honors trailblazers who embody excellence, dedication, integrity, and service in their respective fields including Engr. Manolo G. Mena, PhD for Science and Technology; Dennis V. Umali, DVM, PhD for Agriculture; Rev. Fr. Lorenzo E. Gamos for Bulakenyo Expatriate; Giovanni A. Tapang, PhD for Education; Engr. Jose A. Francia for Entrepreneurship; Councilor Meri Ann Geli Bulaong for Sports; Judge Sita Jose Clemente for Public Service (Judiciary); PBGEN Jess B. Mendez for Public Service (Peace and Order); Ma. Gisela H. Tiongson for Community Service; Richard Nixon C. Gomez for Trade and Industry; Dr. Maria Graciela M. Garayblas-Gonzaga for Health; Party-list Representative Jose Manuel Tadeo “Chel” I. Diokno and Atty. Enrique V. Dela Cruz, Jr. for Professional Service; Jonathan T. Carpio for Arts and Culture (Visual Arts); and Andrew A. De Guzman for Arts and Culture (Cultural Heritage).

Highlighting the vital role these accolades play in inspiring the youth, Governor Daniel R. Fernando emphasized that the Gawad Dangal ng Lipi is a cornerstone of Bulacan’s long-term vision for progress and empowerment.

Challenging the Bulakenyo youth, Gawad Dangal ng Lipi 2026 awardee for Cultural Heritage Andrew A. De Guzman emphasized that beyond the merits, striving to be  a productive member of society is the key to success.

“Ito ay hindi para magbigay dangal lamang, kundi ito ay hamon sa bawat kabataan na ating gampanan ang ating tungkulin bilang Bulakenyo, bilang kapaki-pakinabang na miyembro ng lalawigan,” De Guzman said.

By celebrating these stellar achievements, the Gawad Dangal ng Lipi 2026 served as a powerful highlight of the Singkaban Festival, proving that Bulacan’s greatest treasure remains the enduring excellence and heart of its people.
