
PEÑARANDA, Nueva Ecija – In just one month under the leadership of Officer-in-Charge PCPT Silvestre C. Colanza, the Peñaranda Municipal Police Station (MPS) recorded significant accomplishments in anti-criminality operations, anti-illegal drug campaigns, wanted persons arrests, loose firearm recovery, and local ordinance enforcement, contributing to the continued maintenance of peace and order in the municipality.
Covering the period from May 21 to June 21, 2026, Peñaranda MPS intensified its campaign against wanted persons, resulting in the arrest of seven fugitives, including three Most Wanted Persons at the municipal and provincial levels, among them a Top 1 Municipal and Top 5 Provincial Most Wanted Person wanted for sexual assault.
The station also arrested three drug personalities and confiscated a total of 3 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of ₱20,400.00.
As part of its efforts to curb the proliferation of loose firearms and other forms of criminality, Peñaranda MPS facilitated the surrender of two firearms, including a caliber .38 revolver and a caliber .22 magnum revolver with four rounds of ammunition.
The station likewise received the voluntary surrender of 16 reams and 9 packs of counterfeit tobacco products with a total value of ₱10,163.00, supporting the government’s campaign against illicit trade and tax evasion.
One of the station’s notable accomplishments was the strict implementation of Municipal Ordinance No. 05, Series of 2021, and Provincial Ordinance No. 390, which resulted in the confiscation of 167 modified mufflers through sustained checkpoint and Oplan Sita operations.
Significantly, no index crime under the 8 Focus Crimes was recorded in Peñaranda during the period under review, reflecting the effectiveness of the station’s law enforcement and crime prevention efforts.
The accomplishments of Peñaranda MPS support the PNP Focused Agenda of Chief, PNP, PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., particularly the implementation of Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO) and the delivery of “Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat, at Nararamdaman” and are anchored on the guidance and directives of PBGEN Jess B. Mendez, Regional Director of Police Regional Office 3 and PCOL Ritchie R. Claravall, Provincial Director of the Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office.
Under the leadership of Colanza, Peñaranda MPS remains steadfast in sustaining its gains and advancing programs that promote peace, public safety, and community well-being,, while continuing to build safer, more secure communities in Peñaranda.
