
CITY OF MALOLOS – The province of Bulacan is set to commemorate the 127th Anniversary of the First Philippine Republic on Friday morning, January 23, at the historical grounds of Barasoain Church in this city, with San Juan City Mayor and National President of the League of Cities of the Philippines (LCP) Francisco Javier M. Zamora as the esteemed guest of honor.
Themed “Kalayaan, Kinabukasan, Kasaysayan,” Zamora will lead the wreath-laying ceremony in front of General Emilio Aguinaldo’s monument and will be joined by Governor Daniel R. Fernando, Vice Governor Alexis C. Castro, City of Malolos Mayor Atty. Christian D. Natividad and Vice Mayor Gilbert T. Gatchalian throughout the program.
Fernando is inviting Bulakenyos to witness the commemoration, reiterating the historical role played by the province in the establishment of the country’s first republic in the City of Malolos led by General Emilio Aguinaldo.
“Halina po’t saksihan natin ang makasaysayang komemorasyon na ito dito po sa ating dakilang lalawigan, kung saan napakalaking papel ang ginampanan ng ating probinsiya bilang puso ng Unang Republika ng Pilipinas,” he said. Moreover, National Historical Commission of the Philippines Executive Director Carminda R. Arevalo will join the People’s Governor in front of the Provincial Government of Bulacan Capitol building for the ceremonial unveiling of the event named “Paghahawi ng Tabing ng Pambansang Panandang Pangkasaysayan ng Kapitolyo ng Bulacan.”
