Watami introduces ‘Everyday Japanese’ menu

If Japanese food had a weekday personality, it might look a lot like this.

At Watami Grill and Sushi Bar by The Bistro Group, “premium” no longer waits for payday or special occasions. With its newly launched “Everyday Japanese” menu.

Curated by Chef Masaaki Ishikawa, the menu brings together authentic ingredients and time-honored techniques—but with a relaxed, modern twist.

The promise is clear: Japanese craftsmanship that’s approachable, nourishing, and built for everyday life.

And the dishes? They read like comfort food with a passport.

Take the Salmon Taco Aburi—yes, taco. It’s a playful crossover that still respects Japanese roots, finished with that signature flame-seared touch that adds both drama and depth. It’s familiar, but just different enough to make you pause mid-bite.

Then there’s ramen, the soul of the menu. Slow, rich, and deeply comforting, each bowl reflects the quiet discipline of a traditional Japanese kitchen—only now it’s something you can crave on a casual lunch break, not just a rainy-day indulgence.

Katsu holds down the classics. Crisp on the outside, tender inside, it’s the kind of dish that doesn’t try too hard—and doesn’t need to. It simply delivers.

For those who like a little theater, the stone pot selections arrive sizzling, turning a simple meal into a mini event. That crackle as it hits the table? That’s the sound of an ordinary day getting an upgrade.

And then there’s the Smoked Series—a lineup that leans into bold flavors and a hint of intrigue.

From smoked salmon and tuna nigiri to sizzling cheese gyoza and even smoked omu rice with hamburg steak, it’s a section that feels experimental without being intimidating.

And of course, the best way to cap every Japanese meal is Watami’s signature matcha cheesecake.

Watami redefines what “everyday dining” can be, elevated but easy, refined but relaxed.
