THE Taguig Generals sealed the top seed in Group A of the National Basketball League-Pilipinas (NBL) President’s Cup quarterfinals after beating Laguna Pistons, 104-92, last Sunday at the Muntinlupa Sports Complex.
The Generals finished with a 9-2 win-loss record to grab the No. 1 seed in Group A, arranging a best-of-three crossover semifinal series with the Bulacan DF Republicans, the No. 2 in Group B.
The other semifinal pairing will feature two-time defending champion Pampanga Delta, the top-ranked team in Group B, facing the Quezon Barons, which finished second in Group A.
The start of the semifinals will be on Sunday, June 12 at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center in San Fernando, Pampanga.
Noel Santos had 19 points, 12 rebounds and two steals in the Taguig victory, bouncing back from its 91-82 loss to Quezon last May 29. Jonathan Lontoc also had 19 points as Fidel Castro got 15 points including three triples in the victory.
