FORT MAGSAYSAY, Nueva Ecija – Soldiers from the 91st Infantry Battalion (91IB) of 7th Infantry Division (7ID), Philippine Army together with some religious groups conducted a two-day Medical and Dental Civic Action Program (MEDCAP) benefitting a total of 336 Indigenous people (IPs) at Camp Mingan, Padillan Resort, Barangay Pinamalisan, Gabaldon, Nueva Ecija last November 30 to December 1, 2022.
The said medcap was spearheaded by the Alpha and Delta Companies of 91IB in partnership with Team Jesus Mission (TJM) and Gabaldon Ministerial Association (GMA). The activity offered free medical, dental, medicines and haircuts to beneficiaries.
Councilor Barbara Sabado of Barangay Pinamalisan, Gabaldon, Nueva Ecija expressed her sincere gratitude to the 91IB and the said religious groups describing that the medical mission was a success.
The outreach lasted until evening, with some of the patients coming from far-flung villages to avail free health services and medical supplies. Soldiers also provided mobility assets in ferrying the indigenous people considering their geographical location away from the medcap area.
Lt. Col. Julito Recto Jr, Commander of 91IB said that he sent troops from Alpha and Delta Companies of 91IB to provide necessary assistance in partnership with TJM and GMA headed by Dr. Maria Shiela Aranas.
” The outreach program is a testament of the commitment of our soldiers in providing much needed services to our people in partnership with various organizations like TJM and GMA,” Lt. Col. Recto said.
Meanwhile, Maj. Gen. Andrew D. Costelo, 7ID Commander emphasized that 7ID through its line units will consistently extend a helping hand in uplifting the welfare of the IP communities in the unit’s area of responsibility in collaboration with line government agencies and non-government organizations.
“Our soldiers are always ready to serve our people, especially our brothers in the IP community. We will partner with every respectable organization that aims to provide a better life for our Indigenous People,” Maj. Gen. Costelo concluded
