ANGELES CITY — Five hundred indigent Angeleños received ₱3,000 assistance each from the Department of Social Welfare and Development on Nov. 17, 2022.
Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. led the distribution with Senator Imee Marcos, who is a part of the initiative for the cash assistance.
A total of 1,000 indigent beneficiaries in the city are set to receive the cash assistance. The second batch of indigent Angeleños will get the assistance via schedule.
This project is part of DSWD’s Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS).
Mayor Lazatin thanked Sen. Marcos and the DSWD for allotting cash assistance for his indigent kababayans.
The distribution, which was held at the Infinity Event Center, was attended by the City Social Welfare and Development Office headed by Edna Duaso, together with Chief Adviser IC Calaguas, Secretary to the Mayor Raffy Angeles, Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, Gender and Development Office led by Mina Cabiles; City Tourism Officer Anneleen Antonio-Sugui; Angeles City Economic Development and Investment Promotions Office Head Irish Bonus-Llego; City Nutrition Office led by Jermaine Jam Aguila; Quality Management System Head Chrysalene Cunanan; and Angeles City Tourism Auxiliary headed by Michael Lising.
The AICS program is a social safety net or a stop-gap mechanism to support the recovery of individuals and families from unexpected crisis such as illness or death of a family member, and other crisis situations.
