Camp Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga — The Police Regional Ofice 3 (PRO3)- Regional Medical and Dental Unit 3 (RMDU3) continues to spearhead the Enhanced Monitoring of Police Overall Wellness (EMPOW), also known as Serbisyong Pangkalusugan para sa Pulis ng Gitnang Luzon.
On Wednesday, August 28, a program was held at the PRO3 Makatao Activity Center in Camp Olivas, reaffirming its commitment to prioritize the health and well-being of over 300 police personnel in Region 3.
Under the leadership of PCol Jonard J. De Guzman, Chief of RMDU3, the unit focuses on the ongoing health monitoring and management of PNP personnel, particularly those affected by diabetes, hypertension, and dyslipidemia.
De Guzman emphasized that the primary goals of the program are to safeguard healthy police officers from lifestyle diseases, identify prevalent health risks through annual physical screenings, and provide proper medical intervention for detected conditions.
This is achieved through patient education, follow-up consultations, continuous medication, and quarterly monitoring of patients’ treatment compliance.
Police personnel undergo laboratory testing every six months to ensure their conditions are properly managed.
De Guzman also highlighted that the program is actively being implemented in provincial and city police offices across the region.
Reassuring personnel of the program’s comprehensive support, he stated that RMDU3 will continue to provide the necessary medical assistance and treatment to PRO3 personnel, aiming for a healthy, safe, and productive environment both in the workplace and the community.
PRO3 Director PBGen Jose S. Hidalgo Jr. expressed his gratitude to RMDU3 for its unwavering dedication to maintaining the health and fitness of Central Luzon’s police force, ensuring their readiness to serve the public effectively.
