MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga – “Magpasalamat ku pung tutu, hanggang mabye kami pu, tanawan mi ya pung utang a lub i binye nang saup.”
Thus said Leonida Nalo, wife of senior citizen Armando Nalo, following the visit of Pampanga First District Representative Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. on July 11, 2025 to personally deliver P2,000 financial assistance, Vitamin C supplements, five kilos of rice, and free medical check-ups, funded out of his own pocket.
Lazatin is set to visit a total of 50 bed-ridden elderly, aged 90 to 99 years old, in various barangays in Mabalacat City.
Earlier this month, Lazatin also visited 11 elderly in the Municipality of Magalang.
This is in continuation of the visits conducted by Lazatin back in March, where he delivered personal assistance of Vitamin C, five kilos of rice, groceries, financial assistance of P 1,000, and free conduct of complete blood works via a mobile clinic to 322 senior citizens in Mabalacat City and 247 senior citizens in Magalang Municipality.
Senior Citizens in Mabalacat and Magalang expressed their appreciation for Lazatin’s assistance.
“Thank you pu Cong at mipasyal kayu pu keng Mabalacat. Thank you pu keng binye yung cash assistance ampong panulu pu, ampo pu itang wheelchair. Dakal pung dakal a salamat,” said Sheryl Angeles, daughter of senior citizen Salvador Duque Jr.
“Sobrang dakal a salamat pu keng kayi, keng saup yu, especially pu kareng mangatwa. Lalung-lalu na ngeni syempre ali la pu makapagkayi talaga so ing panulu ampo ing abyas a yan maragul la pung saup talaga karela atsaka pu itang ditak a saup financial,” said Joseph Angeles, son of senior citizen Zenaida Angeles.
As Mayor of Angeles City, Lazatin has been known for his accessible, ‘door-to-door’ delivery of public service, regularly visiting the barangays to personally deliver social services, including free inoculations and vitamins for children, and free medicines and social pension for senior citizens.
As District Representative, Lazatin vows to continue this practice in the First District of Pampanga.
“Ako po ay magbabahay-bahay dahil gusto ko pong malaman ang bawat pulso, bawat kailangan, at bawat hinaing ng aking mga kababayan sa Unang Distrito ng Pampanga,” Lazatin said, “Gusto ko pong lalong ilapit ang aking sarili at aking serbisyo sa bawat pintuan ng aking mga kababayan sa Unang Distrito, lalo na po sa mga kapuspalad.”
“Ginawa ko po yan ng anim na taon sa Siyudad ng Angeles at ako po ay excited na excited na palawakin po ito at abutin kayo sa bayan ng Mabalacat at Magalang,” he added.
