Camp Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga — As part of its continuing efforts to modernize police operations and enhance field communication, Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) under the leadership of Regional Director PBGEN PONCE ROGELIO I. PEÑONES JR., has procured a total of 455 handheld radios for distribution to various police stations across Central Luzon.

An initial batch of 300 radios was acquired earlier this month, followed by an additional 155 units, bringing the total to 455 radios now ready for distribution. These are intended to enhance communication and ensure faster response among police units in urban and remote areas alike.
Further procurement of handheld radios is expected in the coming months as PRO3 continues to push for complete coverage. Local Government Units (LGUs) across the region have also expressed strong support by providing additional radio units to their respective local police stations, reinforcing the shared commitment to public safety.
PBGEN PEÑONES JR highlighted the importance of equipping police units with reliable communication tools as part of PRO3’s broader mission to professionalize and modernize its services.
“This initiative reflects our commitment to improving operational capability at the ground level. With the support of our LGUs and partners, we are strengthening our readiness to respond to the needs of our communities,” RD PEÑONES JR. said.
The effort is in line with PRO3’s strategic direction to Protect the People, Pursue Peace and Order, and Promote Professionalism, guided by the 3 Pillars of CPNP PGEN NICOLAS D TORRE III: Swift and Responsive Public Service, Unity and Morale within the Ranks, and Accountability and Modernization.
Through sustained investment and collaboration, PRO3 continues to lead the way in building a better-equipped, more responsive, and community-focused police force in Central Luzon.
