PRO3 opens 1st RD’s badminton tournament

Camp Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga — Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) officially kicked off its first-ever Regional Director’s Badminton Tournament held at the PRO3 Makatao Activity Center, gathering participants from the Regional Headquarters, Provincial Police Offices, City Police Offices, and various operational and support units across Central Luzon on February 12, 2026.
The tournament, set from February 12 to 17, 2026, aims to provide PRO3 personnel an opportunity to promote physical fitness, relieve stress, and strengthen camaraderie outside their daily operational duties.
The activity created a relaxed and friendly atmosphere where personnel from different units were able to connect through sports while fostering teamwork and sportsmanship.
Regional Director PBGEN Ponce Rogelio I. Peñones Jr. emphasized that maintaining wellness and unity among personnel is essential in sustaining effective public service.
“Ang sports ay hindi lang tungkol sa panalo. Ito ay tungkol sa disiplina, respeto, at samahan. Kapag maayos ang ating pangangatawan at matibay ang samahan ng ating mga tauhan, mas nagiging handa tayo sa ating tungkulin sa paglilingkod sa mamamayan,” he shared. (Sports are not just about winning. It is about discipline, respect, and teamwork. When our bodies are in good shape and our team members are strong, we are better prepared for our duty to serve the people.)
The activity supports the PNP Focused Agenda on Morale and Welfare and reflects PRO3’s guiding principles of the 3Ps — Protect the People, Pursue Peace and Order, and Promote Professionalism.
By encouraging a culture of wellness and teamwork, PRO3 continues to strengthen not only the physical readiness of its personnel but also the shared values that guide their service to the community.
More than a competition, the first RD’s Badminton Tournament highlights unity, healthy living, and the importance of building strong relationships within the organization — on and off the court.
