Under his directive, PRO3 executed a series of simultaneous operations across multiple provinces in Central Luzon, intensifying efforts to combat the proliferation of illegal firearms in the region.
From October 1 to October 9, 2024, these concerted operations resulted in the confiscation and surrender of 163 firearms, accomplished through a combination of law enforcement initiatives and the “Revitalized Katok.”
In addition to these efforts, Maranan  also announced the peaceful conclusion of the filing of Certificates of Candidacy (COCs) for local candidates in Central Luzon on October 8, 2024.
A total of 3,384 candidates filed their COCs, with the process remaining incident-free.
This success is attributed to the unwavering dedication of the police force and the collaborative efforts of partner agencies deployed to COMELEC offices from October 1 to 9.
“Our intensified operations against loose firearms and the successful execution of the COC filing demonstrate our commitment to ensuring a secure and peaceful electoral process. We will continue to work diligently to uphold public safety in Central Luzon as we approach the 2025 elections,” Maranan ended.
