Camp Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga – Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) reaffirmed its commitment to safety and readiness by actively participating in the 1st Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill. The drill took place this morning, March 25 ensuring that personnel and employees are well-prepared to handle seismic emergencies.
PBGen Jose Hidalgo Jr. PRO3 director said that the earthquake drill is a crucial component of PRO3’s emergency preparedness protocol, aimed to familiarize PNP personnel and employees within the camp with necessary procedures during an earthquake event.
Commencing with a one-minute siren, all individuals inside their respective offices promptly executed the ‘Drop, Cover, and Hold On’ technique, seeking shelter under sturdy tables. Subsequently, participants evacuated the premises in an orderly manner, covering their heads with both hands, and congregated at the designated evacuation area, the PRO3 Parade Ground.
Emphasizing the significance of such exercises, PBGEN HIDALGO JR highlighted that the drill serves as an annual reminder of the importance of awareness, preparedness, and readiness during seismic events.
Approximately three hundred (300) PNP personnel and other employees actively engaged in the drill, demonstrating PRO3’s unwavering commitment to safety and emergency preparedness. Notably, personnel from the Bureau of Fire Protection also contributed to the success of the activity.
Through proactive measures like these, PRO3 continues to prioritize the safety and well-being of its personnel and stakeholders, ensuring a swift and coordinated response in the face of natural disasters.
