Camp Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga — In solemn observance of Araw ng Kagitingan (Day of Valor), the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) on Wednesday will join the nation in paying tribute to the courage, patriotism, and ultimate sacrifice of Filipino and American soldiers who valiantly defended Bataan and Corregidor during World War II.
This year’s centerpiece commemoration will take place at the historic Dambana ng Kagitingan in Mt. Samat, Pilar, Bataan, to be led by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., along with national and local officials, surviving war veterans, and their families.
To ensure the safe and orderly conduct of the event, PRO3 on Wednesday will deploy sufficient police personnel throughout the area.
Troops will be strategically stationed in and around Mt. Samat to secure VIPs, manage crowds, direct traffic, and respond to any emergencies.
This deployment will be done in close coordination with the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), local government units, and other concerned agencies.
“Araw ng Kagitingan is more than a commemoration—it is a powerful reminder of the enduring bravery and patriotism of our heroes,” said PBGen Jean Fajardo, Regional Director of PRO3.
“Their selfless sacrifice continues to inspire the men and women in uniform to this day. PRO3 remains committed not only to honoring their legacy but also to upholding the very ideals they fought for,” she said.
Fajardo assured the public that the region remains secure, as all police units across Central Luzon are on full alert status for the duration of the national holiday.
“We are fully prepared to ensure that the public can observe this significant day in a peaceful and orderly manner,” she added. “The presence of our Commander-in-Chief underscores the importance of this event, and we are ready to provide full security support.”
