Camp Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga – Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) throws its full support behind the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) Joint Anti-Fake News Action Committee (JAFNAC), led by PLTGEN Robert Rodriguez, Deputy Chief PNP for Operations, in response to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to intensify the fight against disinformation.
This move comes in the wake of recent fake news reports about the alleged abduction of high-profile Chinese businessmen, which have sown public fear and confusion.
The PNP, through the Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG), is now conducting a thorough investigation to identify and prosecute those behind these malicious stories.
JAFNAC was established to strengthen the PNP’s capability in addressing disinformation through coordinated efforts, real-time monitoring, and a multi-sectoral approach across Television, Radio, Internet, Messaging, and Print (TRIMP) platforms.
