Camp Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga- In its sustained Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO), Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) recovered firearms, an explosive device, and illegal drugs worth P2.2-million during the execution of a search warrant in Olongapo City on January 8, 2026.

Led by the Regional Special Operations Group 3 – Regional Intelligence Division (RSOG3-RID) under PLTCOL Leo Madrid, with the overall supervision of PCOL Jay Baybayan, Chief RID and support from Olongapo City Police Office Police Station 1, the operation resulted in the seizure of two unregistered firearms—a .45 caliber pistol and a 9mm pistol, several magazines and live ammunition of various calibers, one fragmentation hand grenade, 305 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated standard drug price of ₱2,079,440.00 and around 113 grams of suspected kush valued at ₱169,500, along with assorted drug paraphernalia and weighing scales.
Appropriate charges are being prepared against the arrested individual, while further investigation is underway to determine any possible links to criminal groups or organized activities.
PBGEN Ponce Rogelio I. Peñones Jr., Regional Director of Police Regional Office 3, said the operation reflects the police force’s continuing effort to prevent violence and protect ordinary citizens.
“Every firearm, explosive, or illegal drug that we remove from the streets is one less danger to our families and our communities,” Peñones said.
“These operations are about safety—making sure our people can live without fear.”
He added that PRO3 remains committed to the PNP Focused Agenda of Acting Chief PNP, PLTGEN Jose Melencio C Nartatez Jr while upholding PRO3’s guiding principles to Protect the People, Pursue Peace and Order, and Promote Professionalism.
