PNP sustains enhanced security measures amid ongoing COC filing

Camp Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga—Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) remains fully committed to safeguarding the electoral process, as evidenced by its extensive security preparations for the ongoing filing of Certificates of Candidacy (COC) across Region 3.
Since the COC filing began on October 1, PRO3 has implemented comprehensive security measures to maintain peace and order at all Commission on Elections (COMELEC) offices.
PRO3 continues strategically deploying personnel to COMELEC offices until October 9, the day after the last COC filing on October 8. It maintains 24/7 checkpoints and conducts intensified operations to confiscate loose firearms.
A heightened alert status has also been declared to enhance police visibility and ensure rapid response capabilities.
Additionally, the PNP is working closely with the AFP and COMELEC through joint conferences to guarantee the smooth and secure conduct of the COC filing process.
Now, on its third day, the COC filing continues smoothly, with no reported incidents, underscoring the effectiveness of these operations.
PRO3 Director PBGen Redrico Maranan lauded the collaborative efforts of the Philippine National Police (PNP), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), and COMELEC, stating, “Our coordinated security measures have ensured a smooth and peaceful filing process so far. We remain vigilant and ready to address any potential threats to protect the integrity of the electoral process and the safety of candidates and the public.”
