The Philippine National Police (PNP), through the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Pampanga Provincial Field Unit, seized nearly ₱349.6 million worth of alleged counterfeit footwear and production equipment during the implementation of two search warrants in separate warehouses in Apalit, Pampanga on February 26, 2026.
Operatives of the CIDG Pampanga PFU, in coordination with local police units, company representatives, and barangay officials, served two search warrants for violation of the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines.
In the first operation conducted in the morning, authorities raided a warehouse in Barangay Balucuc and seized 181 boxes of alleged counterfeit footwear, 30 sacks of resin raw materials, four heavy machines, and assorted production equipment, with an estimated value of ₱216,305,000.00.
In the afternoon, a second warehouse within the same compound was searched, resulting in the confiscation of 1,481 boxes of alleged trademark-infringing footwear valued at ₱133,290,000.00.
The individual linked to the warehouses was not present during the operations. Both search warrant implementations were witnessed by barangay officials.
PNP Chief, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., emphasized the PNP’s firm stance against intellectual property violations:
“Hindi natin papayagan ang ganitong uri ng ilegal na operasyon. Counterfeiting harms legitimate businesses, deceives consumers, and undermines fair competition. We will continue to run after those who profit from violating the law.”
He added that the operation forms part of the PNP Focused Agenda, particularly under Enhanced Managing Police Operations, which strengthens efforts against economic sabotage and other unlawful activities in support of the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
“The protection of intellectual property is about safeguarding jobs, investments, and public trust. Tuloy-tuloy ang ating aksyon. This is the kind of service we owe our people — Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.”
