The Philippine National Police (PNP) in partnership with Royal Malaysia Police successfully taken custody of a fugitive wanted for murder in the Philippines.
Alan Dennis Sytin, 51, a businessman from Greenhills, San Juan City, arrived at NAIA Terminal 3, Pasay City, at around 11:20 PM on April 11, 2025, where he was promptly served a warrant of arrest by PNP personnel from Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3).

The warrant, issued by Judge Caroline L. Tobias of RTC Branch 7, Manila, dated September 1, 2020, stems from Criminal Case No. 2019-1076 for the crime of murder with no bail was recommended.
The coordinated effort was spearheaded by PRO3 Regional Director PBGEN Jean S. Fajardo, with support from the Aviation Security Group-NAIA and the City of San Fernando Police Station, Pampanga Police Provincial Office (PPO).
Sytin had been detained in Malaysia after being apprehended on March 22, 2025, by the Special Investigation Branch of the Petaling Jaya District Police at Cobra Rugby Club in Selangor for failure to present a valid travel document, in
violation of Section 6(1)(c) of Malaysia’s Immigration Act. Notably, his Philippine passport had already been cancelled on September 12, 2024, by virtue of a court order dated June 26, 2024, from the same court that issued his arrest warrant.
An Interpol Red Notice (File No. 2020/5758) was likewise issued on January 24, 2020.
The arrest was a product of detailed coordination and intelligence sharing initiated by PRO3 and acted upon by the Philippine Police Attaché to Malaysia, PCOL Excelso Lazaga Jr., who filed a Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters (MACM) request.
This move received the full backing of Malaysian Police Commissioner Datuk Ts. Ahmad Ramdzan bin Daud, facilitating Sytin’s apprehension and turnover.
Following his detention, the PNP worked closely with the Philippine Embassy in Malaysia to arrange Sytin’s repatriation, culminating in his official turnover to the escorting PNP team at NAIA.
Sytin is a central figure in the murder case of his brother, Dominic Sytin y Lim, the President and CEO of United Auctioneers Inc., who was fatally shot outside the Lighthouse Hotel in SBMA, Olongapo City in November 2018.
PNP Spokesperson PBGEN Fajardo emphasized the significance of this development:
“This mission reflects the PNP’s unyielding resolve to bring criminals to justice, wherever they may flee. Our productive collaboration with the Royal Malaysia Police and our diplomatic representatives in Malaysia shows that no fugitive is beyond the reach of law enforcement when nations stand united against crime.”
The PNP reiterates its full commitment to holding fugitives accountable and strengthening its ties with global partners in the pursuit of justice.
