NLEX bridges and overpasses undergo preventive maintenance

NLEX Corporation undertakes a preventive maintenance program for its bridges and overpasses along NLEX-SCTEX to ensure the riding convenience and safety of motorists.

Girder strengthening, replacement of components, crack repairs, expansion joint repairs, restoration of slope protection, application of anti-corrosive paint, and replacement of cyclone fences are among the engineering work being done in relation to the project.

The preventive maintenance program, which will be done in sequence, will last until August this year. Some work will require minimal lane closures while others can be completed without disrupting traffic.

“Apart from maintaining the pavement of our roads, we also conduct the upkeep of our interchange bridges, overpasses, and other structures to maintain their reliability and ensure their optimum condition, therefore giving our motorists a safe and efficient travel route,” said NLEX Corporation President and General Manager J. Luigi L. Bautista.

Asset maintenance has always been an essential part of the company’s operations. NLEX implements various programs that optimize the condition of structures to extend their serviceable lifespan, staying true to its commitment to operating safe roads and providing excellent customer service.

Traffic management measures are in place to guide motorists and advisories are available on NLEX Corporation’s social media accounts.

Aside from the said structures, NLEX is working on the upgrade of the Candaba Viaduct as well as undertaking major repairs of Pasig-Potrero bridge, for the long-term safety and convenience of motorists.
