New Political Party of former Activists Pushes Immunity for Political Operators to Unmask Corruption in Government

“Our stance goes beyond politics. The time is now to begin the long overdue need for a thorough revamp of our ways, means, and framework of putting our country’s leaders.”- Elmer Argaño, PolPHIL vice-chair and spokesman

MANILA, PHILIPPINES  – The People’s Progressive Humanist Liberal Party (PolPHIL Party), a newly-organized political party composed of former political activists and political officers, today expressed its full support and cooperation with all ongoing investigations into government corruption and demanded the granting of immunity to political officers (POs) who can help unmask the entrenched corruption networks within the bureaucracy.

The POLphil party recalled past corruption scandals such as the Napoles PDAF scam, where political officers of then-Senator Juan Ponce Enrile, Jinggoy Estrada, Joel Villanueva, and Bong Revilla were charged.

PolPHIL warned that the same patterns of plunder persist, now reflected in the current flood control projects scandal implicating former Senate President Chiz Escudero, former Speaker Martin Romualdez, former Congressman Zaldy Co, and former Senator-turned-Makati Mayor Nancy Binay, among many others.

PolPHIL asserted that POs are usually key witnesses who hold crucial knowledge of how their principals manage both official and personal transactions. By offering them immunity, investigators can finally expose the full machinery of corruption from within.

Elmer Argaño, PolPHIL vice-chair and spokesman

“The time for silence is over,” said Elmer Argaño, vice chairman and spokesperson for the party. “Political officers, or POs as they are known, are the missing link in every major corruption case. Grant them immunity and they will reveal how public funds are manipulated, how deals are brokered, and who truly benefits. This is the only way to bring the biggest perpetrators to justice.”

The PolPHIL party emphasized that this move is not an act of political alignment but of moral duty.

The group vowed to resist all efforts to whitewash or derail ongoing investigations. “We are not a fan of the administration,” Argaño clarified, “but we stand firmly with it and the growing people’s demand for truth and accountability. If government aims to end corruption, then we will push it to go further—no sacred cows, no exceptions.”

PolPHIL party reiterated its political mission to help dismantle systemic corruption and defend the people’s right to a transparent and accountable government, just as it dreams of the dismantling of political dynasties and the end to money and patronage based electoral system.

“Our struggle goes beyond politics,” Argaño added. “It is about freeing our nation from the rot of impunity. The time is now to begin the long overdue need for a thorough revamp of our ways, means, and framework of putting our country’s leaders.”
