ANGELES CITY — The 22 candidates of Mutya Ning Angeles 2024 took part in a stunning cultural photoshoot held at the Angeles University Foundation – Sports and Cultural Center, highlighting local artistry and heritage.
Set against a native-inspired backdrop, the photoshoot celebrated the city’s cultural resilience and promoted local craftsmanship, including the work of Angeles’ traditional basket weavers. One standout element was the Salakot, worn by candidates to symbolize the city’s historical roots and its transformation over the years.
The gowns, crafted by Gawang Angeleño designers Frederick Policarpio, Rosette Ramos-Biag, and Marlon Tuazon, emphasized local talent and traditions.
This blend of fashion and heritage photoshoot was directed by Albero Creatives, with the visuals capturing the essence of Angeles City’s cultural identity.
Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. said the initiative serves as a testament to the city’s heritage and its efforts to support local artisans.
“This photoshoot reflects our story of resilience and pride, honoring the hands that craft our traditions while embracing transformation,” Lazatin said.
The MNA 2024 Working Committee, led by Lazatin’s Chief Adviser IC Calaguas and Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, supervised the activity alongside Angeles City Tourism Officer-in-Charge Anneleen Antonio-Sugui and Rommel Guina.
