ANGELES CITY – Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. said the appointment of Vince Dizon as Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary bodes well to the further development of transport infrastructure that would benefit the country.

Among these flagship transport infrastructure projects include the North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR) System that would link Clark International Airport and the City of San Fernando to the rest of Manila all the way to Calamba City, in Laguna.
When finished, the NSCR will have 35 stations, including Clark and the historical train station in the City of San Fernando. It will also have 464 train cars and 3 depots.
Lazatin said he believes that Dizon, as a former chief of the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA), will fasttrack the development of the NSCR because this would also further increase passenger volume in the Clark International Airport.
The Clark airport served some 2.4 million passengers in 2024 amid increasing local and international flights. It posted 19,221 local and international flights.
“With Secretary Dizon at the helm of DOTr, we can expect the further development of these transport infrastructure that would increase the viability of our country among local and foreign investors,” Mayor Lazatin said.
Mayor Lazatin said these transport support facilities are vital to the development of our country as it would entice more investments because of the seamless transport system.
Dizon served as President and CEO of the BCDA during the time of former President Rodrigo Duterte.
