MAAARI nang makuha ng mga magulang ng nasa 47,212 na public elementary students ang kanilang free anti-dengue kits sa mga eskuwelahan ng kanilang mga anak na handog ng City Government ng Makati.
Sinimulan ni Makati Mayor Mar-Len Abigail Binay ang pamamahagi ng anti-dengue kits noong Agosto 11.
“The distribution of anti-dengue kits to public school students is part of our campaign to prevent dengue, especially during the rainy season,” ayon kay Binay.
Ang bawat kitay naglalaman ng mosquito repellent lotion at wrist band na mayroon 4 na citronella capsules na tatagal ng hanggang tatlong buwan.
Nabatid na lahat ng public elementary school students mula sa Kinder hanggang Grade 6, kabilang ang learners in the Special Education (SpEd) curriculum, at makakakuha ng anti-dengue kits.
“The city has continuously put a premium on enhancing the learning experience of students in our public schools. We want them to look neat and smart and feel confident when they go to school. At the same time, we aim to keep them well-protected from the elements and seasonal diseases,” anang punong lungsod.
Nakapagbigay din ang lungsod ng free school supplies at uniforms sa mga public school students mula pa taong 1995 sa ilalim ng Project FREE (Free Relevant and Excellent Education).
Sa nakalipas na anim na taon, nakapagbigay din si Binay ng karagdagang rubber shoes, medyas, rain gear, wellness kits at mga bagong designed uniforms at school bags.
Ayon pa kay Binay, ang lungsod ay patuloy na nagsagawa ng cleanup drive, preventive misting operations, at health education seminars sa mga barangay para maiwasan ang mosquito-borne diseases.
Nakapagtala ang Makati City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (CESU) ng 334 dengue cases mula January 1 to August 15.
