LGU Support Powers Crime Drop in Central Luzon

Camp Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga — Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) continues to strengthen its operational capability with the support of Local Government Units (LGUs) and stakeholders.

Earlier today, August 23, Mayor Jonjon Villanueva of Bocaue, Bulacan extended his support by donating one (1) mobile patrol vehicle and seven (7) motorcycles in line with the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) Five-Minute Response Time Program, one of the flagship initiatives of PGEN Nicolas Torre III under his first core pillar, “Swift and Responsive Public Service.”

Recently, other stakeholders turned over various equipment including thirty-one (31) motorcycle patrol units, twelve (12) mobile patrol vehicles, one hundred twelve (112) handheld radios, seven (7) Alternative Recording Devices (ARDs), three (3) drones, and forty-six (46) Global Positioning System (GPS) units. These assets significantly improve the mobility, communication, and overall operational capability of police personnel across Central Luzon. These sustained efforts and collaborations have already contributed to a 16% decrease in crime incidents across the region, underscoring the effectiveness of stronger police presence and community partnership.

Other LGUs in the region have also pledged their commitment to provide additional support and resources to PRO3 in the coming months, further strengthening the partnership between local governments and the police force in safeguarding communities.

PBGEN Ponce Rogelio I. Peñones Jr., Regional Director of PRO3, expressed his appreciation, saying:

“These generous donations from our LGUs and stakeholders are not just equipment; they are symbols of trust and partnership. With these additional resources, we continue to respond faster, communicate better, and serve our communities more effectively. Together, we are making the Five-Minute Response Time a reality in Central Luzon.”

The PNP’s Five-Minute Response Program, anchored on the leadership vision of PGEN Nicolas Torre III, is part of the continuing efforts of the organization to ensure immediate police presence and timely assistance in emergencies, reinforcing public safety and community confidence.
