MANILA, Philippines — Iniutos ng Malacañang ang pagsuspindi ng klase sa lahat ng antas at pinayagan ang adoption of alternative work arrangements sa Metro Manila at sa 35 probinsiya ngayong Biyernes dulot ng walang tigil na pag-uulan dulot ng Tropical Storm Dante at Bagyong Emong, at southwest monsoon o “habagat.”
Ang kautusan ay nakapaloob sa Memorandum Circular (MC) 93 na nilagdaan ni Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin nitong Huwebes.
Kabilang sa mga lugar ay ang: Ilocos Sur, Benguet, La Union, Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, Occidental, Mindoro, Ilocos Norte, Abra, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Tarlac, Pampanga, Laguna, Cavite, Babuyan, Group of Islands, Batangas, Cagayan, Isabela, Apayao, Kalinga, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Aurora, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Rizal, Quezon, Marinduque, Oriental Mindoro, Romblon, Palawan, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, at Albay.
Samantala tuloy naman ang trabaho ng mga government agencies na responsable sa mga pangunahing pangangailangan sa health services, mga nasa preparedness and response duties para matiyak na tuloy-tuloy ang essential government functions, ayon sa MC 93.
“Subject to applicable laws, rules and regulations, and as determined by the respective heads of agencies, non-vital government employees of such agencies and all other government employees in the same areas shall be on alternate work arrangement, either as part of the skeleton workforce or under a work from home arrangement,” nilalaman ng order.
Base pa sa MC 93, ang mga localized cancellation or suspension of classes and/or work sa mga government offices sa ibang rehiyon ay maaaring ipatupad ng kani-kanilang local chief executives, alinsunod sa mga relevant laws, rules and regulations.
Ang suspensyon at adoption of alternative work arrangements sa mga pribadong kumpanya at mga tanggapan ay hinahayaan ang pagpapasya sa kanilang mga nakattataas.
